Form an oil film between moving friction parts such as crankshaft, connecting rod, piston and camshaft. Reduce metal‑to‑metal direct friction, lower wear of components and extend service life of the engine.
2. Cooling & Heat Dissipation
The flowing engine oil takes away partial heat generated by piston, bearing and other high‑temperature components. Assists the water‑cooling system to control engine operating temperature.
3. Sealing
Oil film fills tiny gaps between piston ring and cylinder liner. Improve sealing performance, prevent compressed gas in cylinder from leaking, and guarantee engine power output.
4. Cleaning
The additives in engine oil wash away carbon deposits, metal wear debris and sludge generated during combustion and friction. Keep internal engine passages and components clean, avoid oil passage blockage.
5. Anti‑corrosion & Anti‑rust
Form protective oil film on metal surfaces. Isolate acid substances produced by fuel combustion, moisture and air, prevent parts from corrosion and rust.
6. Damping & Buffering
Absorb and buffer impact load when the engine ignites and operates. Reduce vibration and impact stress of bearings and transmission parts.
7. Dirt‑carrying function
Suspend wear particles and carbon residues in the oil. These impurities will be filtered by the oil filter, to avoid abrasive scratch on friction surfaces.
